During the Silicon Valley's formative years, there was a renaissance in the evolution of Packaging and Crating. New engineering, manufacturing and testing techniques were born to enable protection of this equipment against shock, vibration and moisture. A small group of Bay Area Packaging Entrepreneurs led this charge. As the Tech revolution took hold, went on to export this knowledge around the US and the world. Our Founder was one of those Entrepreneurs.
After building and designing crates for seven years at Advanced Container in Santa Clara, Redwood Packaging was founded in 1988. Designing, testing and manufacturing crates and cases for many of the largest tech and medical manufacturers. Grew the business to serve CA & TN, adding extensive foam fabrication operations. In 2014, merged with a global packaging group and moved to Lincoln, CA to fix a struggling case division. Crating and foam were added, the division thrived. In search of a new packaging challenge, Sacramento Packaging was founded.
Packaging the Orbital Access Platform for NASA, Mauna Kea's Infrared Telescope for UC Berkely's Space Science Lab, Fossilized Brontosaurus eggs to Cornell University, first hair transplant robotics system, one man submarine used in a James Bond film, Prototype Air Taxi for United and our crates were featured in Vogue.
